Jane has a background as a creative executive in the media. Creator of 21CC, the BBC's digital classroom for teachers and children, originator and project executive on BBC Blast, a cross-platform creative arts project for 13-19 year olds and the strategic and operational mind behind raw, the BBC's most successful literacy campaign for adults.

She has a strong track record of bringing together public and private partnerships (and making them work) in the area of race equality and at the BBC, with substantial experience of working in a European context.

During 2009, Jane directed three documentaries and established a multimedia unit in South America, subsequently working at Bournemouth University and as a development executive for upcoming television programmes.

Her association with Europe has continued during 2011 with the European-funded Powerful Voices project. This brought together a group of young people with experts drawn from the public and private sectors to develop and pitch their ideas for social enterprises delivered through social media.
